Room with a view

Pros: Rooms with a view, a comfortable bed, a terrific shower, and hot water bottles for the bed. There is a woodburner in the bedroom. Gardens are beautiful, and plenty if places to eat, including a log fire in the main dining room.

Cons: There's a bit of a walk into Ooty.

Good option for a quiet atmospheric stay in Ooty

Pros: Atmospheric old property with good restaurant. We stayed in the garden annexe which was very old style accommodation with a sitting area overlooking the garden. We were provided with hot water bottles each night which was welcome as the rooms get cool in the February evenings. The property is above the town so it is relatively quiet and has good views. Free Morning walk with naturalists before breakfast was very interesting. Garden is pretty and well maintained.

Cons: House is comfortable but in need of a little maintenance in parts. A little information about the history of the property would be interesting but was not provided.

Just perfect

Pros: Superb heritage hotel above beautiful Ooty. Staff looked after us exceptionally well (special mention to Mr Sekar who provided us with a hot water bottle every evening). Setting is beautiful and we also really enjoyed the fabulous nature walk the hotel provides and the complimentary afternoon tea every afternoon- lovely touches that makes this place memorable. Highly recommend staying here!

Home from home

Pros: Lovely nostalgic feeling to the property. The staff were first class, particularly Shaker who went the extra mile to ensure we were as comfortable as possible. He even provided hot water bottles for us. The food was excellent as were the cocktails.

Cons: The only fly in the ointment was that I felt the music a little inappropriate; gangster rap and dance not being my favourite genres. Apart from that a perfect stay.

Very special hotel- we loved it

Pros: Amazing heritage hotel in a great location. The staff treated us like royalty. The food was great and the antique building well preserved. The garden and views are excellent

Cons: We loved it, but it is an old building so hasn’t got all the conveniences of a modern hotel, but it has great character and style. It gets cold at night, so wrap up warm and enjoy the log fires.

This was my 2nd visit in 10 years - once gain it was a wonderful tranquil experience

Pros: Location was wonderful! Lovely food and really helpful staff. Sekar went out of his way to make our stay comfortable ensuring we had hot water bottles each night and fresh fruit.

Cons: In such a peaceful location it was a pity that there was music playing near the outdoor eating area which intruded in to the peacefulness of Nature
