Pros: Awesome food and the chef made my favourite parupu payasam on request ❤️. This place has a lot of dandelions and we had fun foraging for them . Moddys is a short walk for the chocolate strawberries

Amazing

Pros: Amazing property, staff (and service) and food. Reminded me of the days when my parents would bring me to the Taj Garden Retreat when I was studying in a boarding school in Ooty. Love the fact that Gateway has maintained the charm of the property whilst also refurbishing and updating the rooms. I will be coming back with my wife and child !

Life-changing. Calming. Inspirational.

Pros: It was one of the most beautiful properties I've visited in India, and in the most beautiful location with amazing, and welcoming locals. The property also had a fascinating history, and peaceful atmosphere. I visited during the week and therefore, it was a bit more empty, but the staff was still fully staffed and giving full services. It felt so personal, and a more than a 5-star experience. I was so inspired, I made a painting of the hotel's garden area, and the little ducks that roam - freely around the area. Oh, and cute monkeys around the location :) Made the experience even better.

Cons: I could find nothing to dislike. It was the most amazing experience.

Will definitely be back again and again.

Pros: The staff - from Theresa in reception to Britto in the restaurant to Krishna who manages the telescope. I don’t think I could fault any one of them in terms of how pleasant and customer-centric their attitude to clients were. Impeccable service.

Pros: All the staff lavishes attention to make the stay of the hosts unforgettable.

Pros: Upgrading the room based on occasion of our visit, even without our request.

Pros: The staff was very good. Very cooperative. The Chief Chef is also very friendly and supportive.

Cons: The rooms were cold.

Gateway Coonor - an exemplary stay with family

Pros: Excellent property from Taj in Coonor. An old mansion expanded and upgraded to luxury hotel. We stayed in Deluxe room and was spacious to accomodate a family of 4. The buffet breakfast which was complimentary had wide spread of items. Property is strategically located and away from traffic and noise. The staff from front office, through restaurant to housekeeping always welcome you with a smile are were really welcoming and available at service. Worth mentioning the help and guidance extended by Management trainee Subhakesh. He was very cordial, guided and even walked us to some nearby attractions outside property. He explained the history of mansion and helped us plan our itinerary during our stay at the property.

Cons: Though the rooms were spacious with all amenities the bathroom had some issues. The drainage was partially clogged leading to water lodging inside bathroom. Also power disruption happened couple of times during stay and backup did not kick in instantaneously. Be prepared to stay in darkness for a while. Restaurant charges seemed to be not value for money as the rates felt highly overpriced.
