Amazing place to stay on the backwaters and best of all the home cooked food was delicious

Pros: Absolutely tranquil location on the backwaters watching the mussel fisherman and best of all eating the delicious curry hat was made for us 😃

Wonderful homestay experience!

Pros: A wonderful homestay experience with a lovely helpful family. We loved the outdoors area in front of the lake with hammocks and lots of nice places to sit and enjoy the view. The host came and picked us up at the airport and helped organise a taxi for our onward journey after. He also gave lots of recommendations of what to do in the area and organised a boat trip for us to see the mangroves. Breakfast was delicious and we also had dinner there twice during our stay. The house was very clean and modern.

Cons: There is a train line nearby which was a bit noisy at night with trains passing regularly.

Pros: beautiful property right next to a river. very comfortable

Relaxing stay right near the water

Pros: The rooms are simple but fine. The family is very warm hearted and extremely supportive. The homemade food which was provides is very delicious and the garden right near the water is marvellous.

Pros: Excellent location right on the river. A very warm welcome. Saheer took us out on a peaceful boatrip to see the birdlife and Mangrove trees. He also took us on an interesting tour of Calicut. His Mum did the cooking, fish from the river, couldn't be fresher and very tasty. Highly recommended.

Pros: The host and his family are very friendly. Very responsive and felt like home.

Cons: The room price is a little expensive. Hot water facility is not available in the bathroom. Rest is ok.

Fabulous location. Basic accommodation.

Pros: It was an absolutely stunning location. Unbeatable! We had no clue it would turn out to be such a fabulous spot. The host and family were very friendly and eager to host us and ensure we have a good stay. The food was cooked by host’s mom was very tasty.

Cons: The room was too basic. And it could be cleaner. We weren’t expecting a luxurious room as it appeared to be in a remote location. We were geared up to stay in a modest room, but found this to be too very basic. The bathroom also could definitely use an upgrade. Also please clarify the price of food while placing your order, so there are no surprises.

Serene and Peaceful with a Grh,eat Breakfast!

Pros: We enjoyed our stay at Green Island Homestay very much, we felt very welcome and loved the peaceful location. We would have liked to stay for longer but our travel plans didn't allow. It was wonderful to be able to sit in the hammock and enjoy the view from the home, which is right on the water next to the bird sanctuary. We also had a great home cooked breakfast of puttus, pea curry and chippatis. Very delicious! Would 100% recommend. Saheer took us out for a morning boat ride before breakfast to Kadalundi Bird sanctuary where we saw lots of birds and enjoyed the serene mangroves. which was an absolute treat (extra 1000rupee for 2pax). I loved sitting on the hammock in the morning and watching the river.

Cons: Just note, it is quite far out of Calicut and they have only just built the roads to the property entrance so it can be a bit hard to find. However Saheer was very helpful and communicative so it wasnt a problem - and it was very peaceful when we were there.

Pros: Hospitality is at its best faiz is the owner of this property and his larent help him to run. they cook and feed homely food with lots of love. its a very good and relaxing place with very mice people who take care of you and everything you need

Cons: its kind of hard to reach but that is also justified as is just next to lake. Faiz personaly comes to take you to their property and arrange the means to travel and commute to the good places nearby. he takes care of everything.

Awesome & Worth for as many stay cations you want to take.

Pros: The place, you can just forget everything and live around the paradise right here. Also, the way Mr Faiz and his family treated us. They are family now. No longer some hosts.

Cons: The road to reach here. But of course, I wont call it bad. If you need to witness the best views in life, the road certainly gets a little tough.
