An absolute must stay in Kannur

Pros: Such a serene location with the kindest host ever, who cooked beautiful vegetarian southern India meals and was always so friendly and on time. The host gets a 12/10

Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Perfect location near the beach. Also a good place from which to visit theyyam ritual (mr. Sha can help you arrange this). Very helpful and kind host who cooks very good local food.

Cons: Nothing really. The room is a bit basic, but has everything you need (AC/fan and such)

Pros: great location in the midst of green vegetation but very close to a pristine, cleanly kept beach with few people, and a very personable and helpful host, and a clean and well kept lodging

Cons: not a complaint because it comes naturally with the nice remote location, but there are no commercial offers nearby (restaurants, food stands etc)

Perfect stay in nature for those who prefer less touristic and unique experience.

Pros: We enjoyed our stay in this homestay very much. First of all, the owner, Shaa, was super helpful and warm. He organized us a taxi from the airport at night, Theyam ritual watching, wonderful breakfast-lunch-dinner, etc. Our room had a terrace to the little river and a wetland, so it’s a perfect place for birdwatching just from your doorstep. Also you can see stunning sunrises from this terrace. Room was clean and with a working AC. Around 300 meters away there is a peaceful Thottada beach, perfrect for swimming and sunsets. Also the local people there are very welcoming. We haven’t witnessed any tourist scams whatsoever. Local supermarkets can be reached by foot in 10 minutes or 4minutes by rickshaw. Kannur west beach house is a small and honest family business and we wish them all the best.

Pros: For the price this is a 9/10..The location is amazing, the food is great and the host Sha is lovely.

Cons: The only negative, for us, was the bed which was very, very hard.

Cheap and cheerful - a good budget option if you’re looking for a peaceful location within close proximity of a beach.

Pros: Spacious room, peaceful location about 300m from a lovely beach. Sha (the owner) was attentive and the food served was very good. The price was very reasonable.

Cons: It’s a bit off the beaten track so our tuk tuk driver (from Kannur) had difficulty finding it! Fortunately, the neighbour to the guest house is a tuk tuk driver so no problems getting back into town.

Fantastic quiet guest house

Pros: This is such a fantastic guest house. The location is perfect - looking out over a garden to a wetland beyond. There is a lovely quiet beach (Thottada Beach) a 5 minute walk away, and an even longer and quieter beach a short walk south. The guest house is lovely. My room was on the upper floor so it had a balcony with stunning view. The room was clean and large as was the bathroom. Soap, shampoo, toilet paper and towel provided. Sha, the owner, was great, very helpful and interesting to speak to. The food was great as well. A brilliant place.

Pros: Absolutely everything- the location, food, host, room. For anybody who wants to totally chill the ambience is great. Will definitely return. Thank you Sha for a memorable stay and your wife for the wonderful food.

Pros: The stay at Kannur Westbeach Homestay was very, very nice. The house is located in a very quiet place, the way to the beautiful beach past small backwaters is only short. The room is large and beautiful, the bathroom very clean The food is excellent. It was a wonderful stay.

Very peaceful and good food with very helpful host

Pros: Quiet and host Sha was very helpful . We visited some Theyam with the help of Sha . Propert is next to beautiful inland waterways with lots of bird life . Only a short walk to beach which is a delight in itself .

Cons: A little difficult to find . Use Google maps to help taxi or rickshaw .
