Sanctuary View Homestay Thattekad

Pros: We loved our stay at Sanctuary View Homestay! The location is perfect, nestled in a quiet area surrounded by birds. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, more than we could have asked for. We stayed for almost two weeks and would have loved to stay even longer! This was the best homestay we experienced during our two-month trip in India. Thank you so much!! We’ll most definitely be back!:))

Pros: The location here for nature lovers and bird watchers is fantastic. First class. I saw more birds here than I have ever seen in once place. Also the host and his family were incredibly friendly and understanding and flexible. What a jovial couple! Santosh was just incredibly helpful. His English was limited but we could communicate fine about the basics. His son, who is fluent, answered all of our more complicated questions (although a few times there was a delay of more than 12 hours) via the messaging function of Booking. Santosh also arranged our arrival and our onward travel.

Cons: This place is HOT. It's just broilingly hot, except in the early mornings. After a while I started to just feel feverish. The main issue for us was a lack of food options. You are basically limited to what foods the host mother is able to cook. There are no nearby restaurants. There was plenty of food offered (most of the times too much, but you can't complain) but we didn't find all of it to our liking. Lastly, the only water options were to drink from one liter plastic bottles. No filtered water was available, so we had no choice but to generate a lot of plastic trash. This could be improved. At the end of our stay, we were able to request 5 liter bottles of water.

Pros: L'emplacement au milieu de la nature face. Endroit très calme et reposant. La gentillesse des hôtes. La propreté et le confort de la chambre.

Cons: Tout était bien mais compliqué de se rendre dans les villes voisines sans voiture.

Générosité des hôtes

Pros: Accueil très chaleureux, nous nous sommes sentis comme faisant partie de leur famille. Omelettes du petit déjeuner juste excellentes! L’emplacement idéal en pleine nature, au milieu des oiseaux. Calme et sérénité.

Cons: Chambre petite et basique. Petit défaut largement compensé par la gentillesse des hôtes.

Pros: Idéal pour se poser après un traitement Ayurvédique. Situé au milieu de la réserve naturelle, les oiseaux et les animaux sont dans votre jardin comme chez eux. Le chant des oiseaux est un ravissement pour les oreilles, et la vue sur le lac est tout simplement magnifique! De plus, la famille très accueillante, s'occupe des repas délicieux et de toutes les commodités que vous auriez besoin. Possibilité de louer un scooter.

Beautiful location and wonderful hosts

Pros: The hosts were great. The location was great. Quiet and not crowded. The views from the porch were nice. We saw a few species of birds while sitting there on the porch.

Cons: We were easily able to get an Uber to the place but going back, it was difficult to find an Uber. However, Santhosh arranged a ride with a local taxi driver.
