Beautiful place to unwind and do some leisurely exploring

Pros: I was a bit hesitant on arrival but quickly came to find Mudhouse a lovely place to stay. Wonderful staff, great Indian food, beautifully designed and constructed mudhouse, sweeping views to hills, forest and plains, and lots of birdlife on site. The location is near some other houses, so not deep bush - but this made walks much easier and we found the whole set up very peaceful. This part of the western ghats is beautiful, and the drive from Munar to Mudhouse was gorgeous. We went on two lovely walks - one from the Mudhouse along a small canal to a river, and one to Thoovanam waterfall in Chinnar wildlife sanctuary - 30 mins by Tuk Tuk from Mudhouse to park gate.

Cons: A few minor additions in the room would be welcome eg a rail for hanging clothes, a waste bin inside.

Pros: An amazing eco-friendly stay in the heart of nature. The mudhouse architecture is unique and charming, and the views of the hills and forests are breathtaking. The staff were extremely kind and made us feel at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace and authenticity.

Pros: Amazing location about 1 hour drive from Munnar. We loved the walk to the river, and the very serene atmosphere of the area. The dinner was wonderful and the staff very helpful

Memorable and magical

Pros: Beautiful setting, people and accommodation. We stayed in the treehouse which was magical. The design and care that has gone into the whole place is evident all around you. The food is delicious - lunch must be tried! We enjoyed walking along the river and a morning bike ride to explore the area. We loved the ethos of the Mudhouse . It appeared that everyone involved in creating and running this place do so from a place of love. Ambilly could not have been more helpful and shared stories and experiences that added to our own. A very special slice of paradise.

Pros: The rooms were all unique designs crafted with natural building materials and methods. The outdoor private copper bathtub made for a memorable experience under the stars. The gardens are beautifully designed. The river is a 45min walk away and a stunning location for wild swimming in the pools.

We thoroughly enjoyed this place. It really is a rare jewel. Thank you so much for creating this beautiful and friendly

Lovely huts, such kind staff, beautiful location in the hills

Pros: The huts are comfortable and beautifully constructed, and nice outdoor bathroom. The staff were so friendly, kind and attentive. The food was excellent for breakfast, lunch & dinner. We went on some lovely walks nearby, especially to the river.

Cons: Only small criticism is we would have liked dinner to be served a little earlier at 7/7.30pm. If the property had a pool then it would be perfect as it’s such a lovely setting to relax in.
