Beautiful homestay to escape from the city crowd

Pros: This property is owned by an elderly couple. The host speaks fluent english and guided me to get there once I called him after the booking. This property is located at about 12km from coonoor bus stand. And away from all the crowd and noise. You can take auto or cabs to reach this place. The hosts were very warm and welcoming. The room was well maintained and had a geyser. There was a kitchen with some basic stuff like kettle, coffee, tea. The property is surrounded by a beautiful garden. You can also take a stroll around the neighbour hood which has tea estates. The views from this property, the drive to this place are also good. It was pretty cool around mid April. We spotted many small birds in and around the property including a couple of peacocks. You can wake up to the sunrise from an adjacent hill and to the cooing of birds. The breakfast was sumptuous and wholesome. I would definitely recommend this place.

Cons: Note that there arent any restaurants nearby. You have to go around 6-7km. If you come by your own vehicle, this is not a problem. If not, they can arrange a cab for you at additional cost (better than what cabs at coonoor bus stand charge). On one of the days, the host was kind enough to drop us and pick us up from Coonoor on his way to work and back.
